So, Meghan (who lives upstairs) has been telling Jaycee for a while that she was going to find some pine cones to make bird feeders. Jaycee would keep asking about making bird feeders randomly, and the other day we finally made them. Meghan had to gather some pine cones, and she said it was harder than she thought it would be to find pine cones here in the Midwest. Anyway, they made them last week, and Jaycee enjoyed the activity. You just put peanut butter on the pine cone, then roll it in bird seeds. I had never heard of it. Since hanging them up, we have yet to see a bird come and eat the seeds, but we're being patient. The weather has been terrible, so we'll blame it on that.

This has become Jaycee's favorite thing to do: play games on the computer.
pbskids.org is the place to go for educational games and coloring activities. It's fun, and very nice to use when we're cooped up all day. She is even learning how to play the games all by herself.
Alas, we're back to the naptime battles. She won't go down for her nap when I say it's time to go to sleep. Then when it's way too late for naptime (like 5:00 or 6:00), she sneaks away and falls asleep in the rocking chair. Then we try to wake her up, and she is so ornery, but there's no way I'm letting her sleep that late. We have to shake her and tickle her for at least 20 minutes before she will wake up. This one was funny because right before she fell asleep she put her swimming suit on over her clothes, so she was sweating profusely when we woke her up.

Just a cute picture of her putting a dice in her ear. Why?...I don't know.

We used to make those bird feeders all the time when I was a kid! My kids won't take naps either.... it really ruins your day!
