It's gotta be BLUE!

Blue Harbor Resort, that is. While Lance's mom was here visiting us he was lucky enough to get the weekend off (thanks to Shawn Ostler, his partner in crime for their current rotation) so we could actually leave town. It was a beautiful place, and it was actually the first time we touched the water of Lake Michigan. We had a great stay there, but I missed out on my morning run along the beach because it was raining. I was so disappointed. Peggy's face says it all...it was cold! I actually didn't even dip my toes in the water because I thought we'd be able to play more on the beach the next day. Rain always ruins everything. Jaycee had a blast playing in the water even if she wasn't prepared to get wet. She was soaked by the time we left and we still had to drag her away from the water.

I didn't take many pictures of the indoor swimming because they don't turn out very good. Lance took Jaycee down one of the tube slides on Friday night, and she got way scared when the tubes went dark. When he tried to get her to go again, she wasn't tempted at all. It took him the rest of the night, and some of Saturday morning to get her to go again. When she finally went with him again, she was a changed little girl. They went at least 75 more times down the slides before it was time to go. Lance definitely got a good workout that day. He couldn't say no to her because he had been begging her to go for so long. He's such a good sport.

This was Rydge's take on the whole swimming experience. We had to forcefully pull him into the water. He didn't like it. He just preferred playing around the chairs and having nothing to do with spraying or splashing. He also opted for a nap instead. I hope he'll grow out of this eventually. He's got to love water if he's my son, right?
